 Take Action Now to Protest Medicare Cuts, Improve Audiology Access

Join ASHA’s effort to advocate for changes to Medicare proposals that significantly cut payment rates and provide limited beneficiary access to audiologists.

These two key provisions are included in the proposed Medicare Physician Fee Schedule for calendar year 2023. To fight these proposals, members can send ASHA-crafted messages to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and to their congressional representatives.

Over-the-Counter Hearing Aid Toolkit

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released a final rule for over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids, transforming the hearing health-care landscape by creating a new regulatory class of hearing aids. While OTC hearing aids will be widely available at lower costs to many adults with self-perceived mild to moderate hearing loss, they are not right for everyone. Audiologists can be proactive about addressing questions from patients and other health-care professionals.
